About Dan
I'm not a suit who read about property. I'm a tradie who bought some.
Buyers First Agency is me, Dan White, buying for clients all across the country. If you're going to trust someone with a few hundred grand of borrowed money, you should know exactly who they are. So here's the lot.
The tools came first
I started my working life on job sites, not in an office. Good money, hard work, and the same conversation in every smoko shed in the country: someone's cousin who made a killing on a house, and everyone agreeing they should get into property one day. One day.
I got sick of saying one day. So I started reading, then researching, then annoying real estate agents every weekend until they knew me by name. My first purchase taught me plenty, including a couple of lessons I'd happily have skipped.
But I kept going, got systematic about the data, and kept buying. Over a decade on, I've bought more than 50 properties all across the country, my own and my clients'. I keep them in a spreadsheet because at some point the memory gave up. Somewhere in there the penny dropped: the gap between tradies who talk about property and tradies who own it isn't money. Most of us earn plenty. It's time, and knowing what to actually do with it.
Why Buyers First exists
When I looked around at buyer's agencies, most of what I found was polish. Slick suits and harbour views in the brochure. Fees that grew with your budget. Dig a little and some of them had never bought an investment property with their own money in their lives.
I figured my mates deserved better. Someone who'd actually done it, charged a flat fee and showed the workings. So I built it. The name is the whole mission statement. Buyers first. The day a developer's cheque matters more than the client's result, the name stops being true.
Why regional Victoria?
Because it's home, and because where I live has nothing to do with where you should buy. The data doesn't care about my postcode. I buy for clients wherever the numbers stack up, and plenty of wealth gets built a long way from a capital city.
Also nobody here fights me for a carpark, and the coffee surprises Melbourne people every single time. Life's alright up here.
The short version
- Trades background. Still speaks fluent job site
- Bought his own portfolio before charging anyone a cent
- Flat $20k fee, same at every budget
- Based in regional Victoria, buys wherever the data says
- Will talk about property until you stop him. Kate has tried
The team
Me out front, Tom on the numbers.
Strategy at BFA is run by Tom, a CPA and career property strategist. Years at InvestorKit, one of the biggest buyer's agencies in the country, before going out on his own. These days he runs over 1,500 strategy sessions a year, with feasibility on small development sites, duplexes as a specialty, and his own portfolio across residential and commercial. Every client strategy gets Tom's modelling before it gets my hunting.
He's also a father of five, which means two things: he models cashflow like it genuinely matters, and he doesn't waste a minute of anyone's time.
That's me. Now let's talk about you.
The first call is free and there's no pitch deck waiting for you at the end of it. Just two people working out if this makes sense.
